Job summary

BOC Limited, a Linde company, is seeking a reliable HGV driver to deliver gas cylinders across the local area from Corby. You will ensure vehicle road worthiness and safety, complete daily pre-use inspection sheets and, when needed, operate forklift or crane for loading and unloading.

Expect around 15–20 deliveries daily, using safe handling techniques and applying defensive driving practices in line with regulations.

Qualifications

• HGV/LGV Cat C licence holder.
• ADR (Class 2 in packages).
• Driver CPC is required.
• Knowledge of Defensive driving and Driver Regulations.
• Ability to interact with internal and external customers.
• Having a high level of personal integrity.
• Have held the LGV entitlement for a minimum of 2 years, for insurance purposes.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the road worthiness, safekeeping and cleanliness of vehicle allocated
• Complete daily pre-use inspection check sheet for the vehicle and as well as any specialised equipment that you may need to use as part of daily work
• If necessary, operate special BOC equipment such as a forklift truck or crane for loading and unloading vehicles
• Applying defensive driving techniques, knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads to ensure the safe transit and delivery of cylinders is required
• You will deliver approx. 15-20 gas cylinder deliveries per day to customers in the area
• Use safe cylinder manual handling techniques to deliver/collect cylinders to/from customers
• Adhering to strict Health & Safety operations
