Job summary

Norfolk State University is seeking an Admissions Counselor to represent the university at college fairs, high school visits, and community events. You will develop relationships with counselors and students, review applications, and communicate travel schedules for recruitment across the region.

The role requires coordinating events, leveraging CRM tools, and delivering timely responses to inquiries. Travel to events and campuses will be involved as part of ongoing outreach and yield

Qualifications

• Experience using technology in a higher education setting, preferably in admissions.
• Knowledge of CRM, social media, and website use in recruitment.
• Familiarity with Colleague and Informer systems preferred.
• Excellent spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent the university at college fairs and community events.
• Follow up with counselors and students with appropriate communications.
• Develop relationships with key contacts in the assigned territory.
• Review undergraduate admissions applications and evaluate credentials.
• Coordinate and implement recruitment events and electronic communications.
• Ensure timely responses to emails and voicemails within 48 hours.
