Job summary

Office Angels in Yeovil is recruiting a Trainee Payroll Administrator. You will join a friendly payroll team and receive full training from day one, with a clear path to a recognised payroll qualification.

The role focuses on data processing and payroll tasks, progressing as you gain knowledge. You will learn payroll processing, record maintenance, starter/leaver changes, payslip preparation, HMRC/pension support, and handling client queries with strong customer service.

Job Title: Administrator (Payroll Department)

Location: Yeovil, Somerset

Salary: 25,000 - 28,000 PA DOE

Hours: 30-37.5 hours, Monday to Friday flexible dependant on the candidate. The company also offers flexi time with 10am - 4pm being the core hours

The Role

You’ll become part of a friendly, experienced team who will provide full training from day one, helping you build your knowledge and confidence while supporting you towards a recognised payroll qualification.

As a Trainee Payroll Administrator, you’ll learn the ins and outs of payroll administration, starting with core administrative and data processing tasks before progressing into more technical payroll responsibilities as your skills develop

What You’ll Be Learning

  • Assisting with weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll processing
  • Maintaining and updating payroll records
  • Processing starter, leaver, and employee information changes
  • Preparing payslips and payroll reports
  • Supporting HMRC and pension administration
  • Responding to client queries and delivering excellent customer service

  • Developing an understanding of payroll legislation and compliance

You’ll ideally have:
