Job summary

Royal College of Physicians in London seeks an Administrator for the Specialist Registrations Team. The role supports medical trainees from recruitment through training completion and entry onto the GMC Specialist Register.

You will work with the Head of JRCPTB and a team to deliver high-quality customer service by phone, email and in writing, ensuring accurate information and smooth processes for trainees.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Clear, confident communication by phone, in person, and in writing.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong planning and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to identify service improvements and implement them.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Previous office administrative experience.

£26,417 per annum

London, hybrid homeworking (minimum 6 days a month in office).

Temporary Contract - 12 month fixed term contract

Working hours - Full time (35 hours per week). Standard working hours between 9am - 5pm.

The Federation develops and delivers services to support doctors at every stage of their careers, including:

  • Examinations (Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK - MRCP(UK))
  • Training (Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board - JRCPTB)
  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

The Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB) is looking to recruit an Administrator in its Specialist Registrations Team. This is an exciting opportunity providing support to medical trainees from recruitment to completion of training and entry onto the GMC Specialist Register. You'll be working as part of a team with the full support of the Head of JRCPTB.

Key responsibilities
  • Working with doctors in training, Specialty Advisory Committees, Medical Directors and Associate Medical Directors to coordinate and pro-actively deliver support services across the team including:
  • Recommendations for entry onto the GMC Specialist Register on successful completion of specialty training and general trainee enquiries
  • Providing excellent customer service dealing with enquiries by telephone, email and correspondence
  • Actively contributing to wider team communication / FAQs / website updates
About You
  • Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills
  • Ability to provide clear and confident telephone, face to face and written correspondence in a customer-trainee service delivery environment
  • Proficient in the use of features of a range of software products relevant to work including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Demonstrates excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Identifying service improvements, offering suggestions for implementation and translating ideas into action
  • Demonstrates the ability to work autonomously
  • Prior experience in an office administrative role
  • Knowledge of UK Postgraduate Medical Education is desirable
