Job Overview

The Electronic Assistive Technology Team (EAT) seeks an Administrative Assistant based at the Bristol Centre for Enablement. The role supports clinical and technical teams, coordinating appointments, liaising with healthcare professionals, patients, families, and carers. Responsibilities include ordering equipment, managing stock, and updating the electronic database. The role requires planning and responsiveness to immediate needs.

Main duties of the job
  • Coordinate the EAT Service across Bristol, Plymouth, and Truro, booking appointments, managing diaries, and scheduling work for a multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain the computerized database for repairs, maintenance, procurement, and supplies.
  • Handle incoming requests from patients, carers, and healthcare professionals for repairs or replacements, and assist in workload allocation.
  • Act as a central referral and contact point for the service.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

The EAT South West provides assessment, provision, and support for equipment aiding patients with physical impairments, focusing on environmental control and computer access. Based mainly at the Bristol Centre for Enablement, with staff in Plymouth and Truro, we serve the entire South West region.

We seek an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to support clinical and technical staff, liaising with patients, families, carers, health and social care professionals, manufacturers, and suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have substantial administrative experience, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a desire to contribute to innovative services for a complex patient group. NHS experience is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
