As an Administrative Officer, you will be an important first point of contact for callers and visitors to the school, providing a welcoming, professional and efficient reception service. Working under the direction of the School Office Manager and Headteacher, you will provide effective administrative support to the school and Leadership Team, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school office while maintaining confidentiality and high standards of safeguarding.
We are looking for someone who is:
Able to prioritise and organise their workload, meet deadlines, cope with interruptions and remain calm under pressure
An effective and professional communicator who is polite and helpful when dealing with pupils, parents, colleagues and external contacts
Able to maintain accurate manual and computerised records and filing systems relating to pupils, finance, dinner money and other school matters
Familiar with office procedures, practices and equipment, with knowledge of computer applications used in schools; experience of Arbor is desirable
Confident using Windows-based software such as Word, Excel and Outlook
Aware of GDPR principles and the importance of confidentiality when handling school information
Experienced in working as part of a team in an office setting; school office experience is preferred, although training will be given for the right candidate
Educated to a good standard of literacy and numeracy, with NVQ Level 3 Business & Administration or equivalent desirable
