Job summary

Swissport UK&I are seeking enthusiastic team members to join our Cargo team in Belfast. This multi-functional role blends warehouse and office duties and offers flexibility across environments. You will handle air cargo, complete admin tasks, and provide reception support while following safety and SOPs.

Interviews will be held remotely on Teams, with in-person meet-ups as required. Pay is £26,422.50 yearly or £13.55 hourly, reflecting local pay bands.

Qualifications

• GCSEs or equivalent qualification as a minimum.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays).
• Ability to speak and understand English.
• Ability to travel to the airport when public transport is unavailable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• It literate and able to learn airline-specific computer systems.
• Ability to follow processes with a flexible approach.
• Willingness to work in inclement weather if required.
• Able to demonstrate good customer service.
• Commitment to continuous improvement.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Able to lift up to 32 kg repeatedly and work in a manual environment.
• Able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
• Full driving licence.
• Previous aviation experience desirable.

Overview

• Handling and moving air cargo within the warehouse.
• Loading and unloading freight safely.
• Completing office-based administrative tasks, including customs documentation, invoicing, and data entry.
• Providing basic reception and customer service support when required.
• Following all company procedures, safety standards, and security requirements.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a varied working day and is happy to work in both a warehouse and an office environment.

Pay - £26422.50 Yearly and £13.55 Hourly

Interviews will be held remotely on Teams. Afterwards you may be required to meet our station manager in Person at BFS international.

Responsibilities

Day to day you will be responsible for:

• Loading and unloading air cargo onto vehicles and storage area
• Preparingand palletize cargo as needed
• Ensuringpaperwork related to the cargo is correct
• Assuringproper handling and delivery of cargo and operation of related equipment
• Following Dangerous Goods Requirements and Regulations
• Delivering air cargo to appropriate recipient if required
• Providing special handling of live animals as required
• Driving and/or operate specialist equipment which may include vans, fork lift trucks, cargo dollies/trailers.
• Offloading trucks.
• Reporting all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager
• Complying with all relevant legislation and airport authority and carrier security requirements
• Complying with Swissport Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
• Maintaining the highest standards of safety and security at all times
• Basic Customs Clearance Process
• Cash Invoicing
• Acceptance of high value goods such as radioactive goods, live animals or dangerous cargo.
• Reception duties including but not limited to greeting clients and visitors, answering telephone queries, sorting post, filing etc.
• Complying with all relevant legislation as well as airport authority and carrier security requirements
• Complying with Swissport Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
• Operating any necessary machinery
• Additional warehouse duties as required

Qualifications

To be successfulin this role you will need to be or have:

• In possession of at least three GCSE's or equivalent
• Flexible to work a variety of shifts (days, evening, nights, weekends, and public holidays)
• Ability to speak and understand the English language
• Ability to travel to the airport at times where public transport is not available
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Must be IT literate and able to learn airline specific computer systems
• Ability to follow processes and procedures and apply flexible approach when required
• Willingness to work in inclement weather if required
• Able to demonstrate good customer service

• Able to work in a manual environment and repeatedly lift up to 32kg throughout a shift
