Job summary

Renfrewshire Council is seeking an Additional Support Needs Assistant (Temporary) to support young people with additional support needs across Renfrewshire schools and establishments. You will be deployed by school leadership and work with designated class teachers to support pupils in Pre-5 to Secondary years.

Experience with and/or caring for children, plus literacy, numeracy and ICT skills, is essential. The post is temporary for 12 months or until funding ends.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with and/or caring for Pre 5, Primary or Secondary age children.
• Demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience of ICT equipment and associated software packages.

Additional Support Needs Assistant (Temporary)

As an Additional Support Needs Assistant, you will be committed to working with young people/pupils with Additional Support Needs and be deployed to support young people within schools and other establishments across Renfrewshire.

Whilst responsible to the head teacher/head of establishment, you will work under the direction of and in partnership with nominated class teachers.
It is essential that you have experience of working with and/or caring for Pre 5, Primary or Secondary age children, together with demonstrable literacy, numeracy skills and experience of ICT equipment and associated software packages.

Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 12 Months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
