Job summary

Teaching Personnel are seeking dedicated additional needs teaching assistants to support learners aged 18-25 with SEND in a specialist post-16 provision in Haslingden, Lancashire. The role starts September and runs on a temporary to permanent basis with a Tuesday to Friday pattern.

You will assist teaching staff in delivering learner-centred activities, promote independence, and help learners develop employability skills while working with families and professionals to support progression.

Teaching Personnel are seeking dedicated and compassionate Additional Needs Teaching Assistants (Level 2 & Level 3) to support learners at a specialist post-16 educational provision in the Haslingden area.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly supportive and learner-focused setting that specialises in preparing young adults with SEND for adulthood, citizenship and employment. The provision supports learners aged 18-25 with a range of additional needs, including severe and moderate learning difficulties and EHCPs.

Responsibilities
  • Support learners with additional learning needs both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging, learner-centred lessons and activities.
  • Promote independence, confidence and preparation for adulthood.
  • Support communication, social development and employability skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families and other professionals.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience supporting children, young people or adults with SEND.
  • A caring, patient and flexible approach.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) desirable.
  • Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification or relevant experience desirable.
  • Relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver targeted learning support.
  • Commitment to inclusion, learner development and professional growth.
