Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) or Part-time (30 hours per week)

Compass Associates are proud to partner with a well-established specialist mental health hospital in Bromley to recruit an Addictions Therapist for their high-performing, multi-disciplinary team.

Set in tranquil, landscaped grounds, the hospital delivers outstanding inpatient and outpatient care to individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and addiction issues. The service adopts an abstinence-based model and incorporates the 12-Step Programme, offering structured recovery in a calm, therapeutic environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced therapist with a passion for group work and recovery-focused care to make a meaningful impact.

Your Role at a Glance:

As an Addictions Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a robust treatment programme focused on long-term recovery. This includes facilitating therapy groups, conducting one-to-one sessions, and supporting individuals throughout the stages of treatment and aftercare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate psychoeducational, relapse prevention, and recovery-focused group therapy sessions
  • Deliver tailored 1:1 support, including assessments and ongoing therapeutic interventions
  • Develop and implement individualised care and treatment plans
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and support staff
  • Provide aftercare planning and relapse prevention support
  • Promote abstinence and engagement with the 12-Step framework

What We’re Looking For:

  • BACP Accredited (or working towards, with accreditation expected within 6–12 months)
  • Level 5 Diploma in Counselling or equivalent relevant qualification
  • Experience in addictions, recovery, or dual-diagnosis settings
  • Strong understanding of abstinence-based and 12-Step recovery models
  • Skilled in both group facilitation and one-to-one therapy
  • Compassionate, resilient, and team-oriented approach
