Job summary

Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS FT is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to join the Acute Stroke and Neurology team at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. The role requires expert assessment and therapy for stroke and other neurological inpatients, with opportunities to develop dysphagia competencies and work within a supportive MDT.

Qualifications

• Member of the Healthcare Professions Council.
• Professional degree i.e. BSC speech sciences or Masters in medical sciences.
• Certificate to practise.
• Post basic Dysphagia Training.
• Training in neurological conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and therapy for acute stroke and neurological inpatients.
• Develop competencies in dysphagia management as required.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team across the Stroke and Neurology service.
• Deliver timely assessment and intensive rehabilitation during acute recovery from stroke.
• Possible contribution to 7 day services on HASU with senior support.
