Job summary

NHS Wales-based Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) in North Wales is seeking an enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join the Acute Stroke Team at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. You will assess and treat patients in the acute phase following stroke, collaborating with occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, nurses and doctors to maximise recovery and support safe discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Carry out physiotherapy assessments and devise individualised treatment plans for stroke patients.
• Collaborate with the MDT to support patients following a stroke and ensure timely discharge planning.
• Supervise, teach and appraise peers, students and other staff within the team.
• Assist in service development, quality improvement initiatives and ongoing evolution of stroke services.
• Support and develop junior staff and physiotherapy students as part of daily practice.
