Job summary

NHS Forth Valley is seeking a band 5 registered nurse to join our integrated stroke unit at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. The ward is a 23 bedded acute stroke unit within the medical directorate, providing 24 hour stroke assessment and ongoing care.

You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team, learning specialist stroke skills, supporting the ED during thrombolysis and transfers, and accessing core competencies and CPD opportunities to progress professionally.

Qualifications

• Must be a band 5 registered nurse with NMC registration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and maintain high standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Assess and deliver care to stroke patients.
• Collaborate with ED and AAU for transfers and thrombolysis decisions.
• Support and supervise junior staff and contribute to unit development.
• Engage in CPD and stroke-specific competencies.
