Job summary

NHS Grampian’s Aberdeen Royal Infirmary seeks a Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist to join the Acute Adult SLT Team on a full-time basis. The post offers rotational opportunities across acute medicine with a focus on specialist clinical development within a large teaching hospital.

The role involves assessing and managing adults with communication and swallowing difficulties, working in multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to service development and governance.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered and a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
• Has completed post-registration dysphagia training and has relevant clinical experience.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and team-working skills.
• Flexible and proactive approach to service delivery.
• Committed to ongoing professional development and service improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage adults with acquired speech, language, communication and swallowing difficulties.
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support patient-centred care and outcomes.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in service-wide learning, development and clinical governance activities.
