Job summary

St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in London is seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to assess, treat, and manage adults with acquired communication and/or swallowing disorders, including supervision to develop specialist clinical skills in acute neurosciences. The role involves working with a dynamic team in a busy NHS environment.

You will contribute to 7-day working patterns, manage complex caseloads, and develop instrumental assessments and tracheostomy

Qualifications

• Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification.
• Health Professions Council license to practice.
• Evidence of completion of specialist short courses and self-directed study.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage a caseload of adults with acquired communication and/or swallowing disorders.
• Make differential diagnoses based on assessment evidence.
• Devising, implementing and evaluating individualized treatment programmes.
• Referral to instrumental assessments of swallowing as needed.
• Counsel and advise colleagues on management of communication and swallowing difficulties.
• Prioritise own caseload and workload, liaising with multidisciplinary teams.
