St George's University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to assess, treat and manage a caseload of adults with acquired communication and/or swallowing disorders. The post offers opportunities to develop specialist clinical skills in acute neurosciences, including instrumental assessment and tracheostomy competencies, within a supportive, dynamic department.

Responsabilidades

• Assessing, treating and managing caseload of adults with acquired communication and/or swallowing disorders relevant to specialist SLT skills
• Making differential diagnosis on the basis of evidence from assessment
• Devising, implementing and evaluating individualised treatment programmes
• Referral to instrumental assessments of swallowing
• Counselling and advising others regarding the management and care of patients with communication and/or feeding and swallowing difficulties.
• Managing and prioritising own caseload and workload independently.
• Liaise with other colleagues and professional groups and referring patients for further investigation and/or second opinions as required.
• Maintaining adequate records of assessment, management, and treatment of patients.
