Job summary

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the acute inpatient team at North Devon District Hospital. The role includes learning specialist skills with a developmental band 5 to 6 path if required.

You will assess and treat adults with communication and swallowing disorders across wards, ED and ICU, with links to stroke services and CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified speech and language therapist registered with the appropriate regulatory body.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat adults with communication and swallowing difficulties.
• Work across general medical/surgical wards, ED and ICU, with cross-cover for the acute stroke ward as required.
• Provide access to instrumental assessment services including videofluoroscopy and FEES, with training as needed.
