Job summary

Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join the adult inpatient pathway. The role includes managing complex communication and swallowing disorders, with consideration for a developing Band 5 transition.

You will be part of a dynamic SLT Team, working with the ENT and Macmillan cancer therapy services, while supervising juniors and contributing to CPD and training opportunities across the MDT.

Qualifications

• Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist or eligible for Band 5 developing Band 6.
• Experience with adult in-patient pathways.
• Ability to supervise junior staff and students.
• Involvement in videofluoroscopy clinic and MDT training across acute and community settings.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, assess, treat and manage adult in-patients with communication and swallowing problems across acute wards.
• Lead on specialist SLT provision alongside Band 7 SLT.
• Participate in videofluoroscopy clinic as needed.
• Supervise junior staff and students and contribute to training programmes across MDTs.
