Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the Good Hope Hospital acute team on a permanent basis. The role focuses on acute in-patient care across general medical and elderly wards with supportive work at the Norman Power centre.

The post offers development opportunities, supervision, and exposure to videofluoroscopy and FEES clinics within a large, experienced team. Full-time or flexible working arrangements are discussed.

Qualifications

• Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with postgraduate clinical experience.
• Current HCPC registration and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists membership.
• Experience in dysphagia management and communication assessment.
• Ability to supervise therapy assistants and work in a multi-professional team.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute in-patient SLT care across general medical and elderly wards.
• Participate in weekend service and 7-day working rotas.
• Engage in regular supervision, appraisal and professional development.
• Collaborate with senior staff and other professionals to optimise patient care.
