We’re the UK’s largest long-term savings and retirement business. We offer a range of products across our market-leading brands, Standard Life, SunLife, Phoenix Life and ReAssure. Around 1 in 5 people in the UK has a pension with us. We’re a FTSE 100 organisation that is tackling key issues such as transitioning our portfolio to net zero by 2050, and we’re not done yet.

The role

This is an excellent opportunity for an actuary looking to develop their career at Phoenix. This role is integral to the Finance Transformation, Data & Systems area, where you will be responsible for driving and delivering key projects and initiatives that transform Phoenix’s actuarial processes.

You will be part of the Actuarial Reporting Projects team responsible for delivering projects to help the Group meet strategic objectives and deliver desired outcomes for our policyholders & shareholders. There are various roles available in the team, focussed on the different parts of the actuarial reporting lifecycle: Assets, Customer Data, Actuarial Modelling, Balance Sheet, Capital Production, Downstream Reporting. We are keen to understand your area of expertise and will look to match your skillset to the appropriate area in our team.

Within your project(s), you will provide actuarial insight and technical expertise to support the implementation of key changes for the business. As appropriate you will use your actuarial knowledge to ensure that what we deliver into BAU meets the requirements of the business.

You will be expected to work with colleagues across the department to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to budget. Collaboration and stakeholder management are key to our success at Phoenix.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of Actuarial Reporting at Phoenix, through impactful change initiatives, whilst also growing your own career.

What are we looking for?

  • You will have expertise in at least one of the following areas: Assets, Actuarial Data, Actuarial Models, Capital Modelling, Solvency II, IFRS17
  • You will have a track record of delivering work to a high quality standard and be able to work autonomously. You will have good time management skills.
  • You will have strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, and will be able to communicate technical information to both technical and non technical colleagues.

We want to hire the whole version of you.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.
