The Mission

As the Pricing Lead, you will be at the forefront of driving Wakam's UK pricing strategies. This pivotal role involves designing and implementing data-driven pricing frameworks that optimize profitability and market competitiveness. Collaborating with underwriting, claims, and distribution teams, you will shape decisions that impact our growth and success.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Pricing Strategy: Developing and executing strategies to achieve profitable growth while adapting to market demands.
  2. Portfolio Management: Analyzing performance metrics, monitoring competitor pricing, and optimizing portfolio profitability.
  3. Technical Pricing and Analytics: Leading the design and improvement of pricing models using actuarial and statistical methods.
  4. Stakeholder Management: Partnering with MGAs, internal teams, and compliance to align pricing decisions with regulatory and market requirements.
  5. Leadership: Mentoring a team of analysts and actuaries, fostering innovation and a culture of excellence.
Profile

We're seeking a strategic and analytical thinker with:

  1. A degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Data Science.
  2. Deep knowledge of the UK insurance market and regulatory framework.
  3. Proven experience in retail insurance pricing roles, ideally for Motor and Home products.
  4. Proficiency in pricing tools (e.g., EMBLEM, AKUR8) and programming languages (Python, R).
  5. Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  6. A track record of leading pricing projects or teams.
