We’re recruiting for an Actuary to join us as a Financial Control Manager. We’re offering a competitive base salary, plus car allowance (if fully qualified under the IFoA or equivalent) and a host of other benefits. The Financial Control team reviews and assesses processes to maintain an appropriate control environment across the Legal & General Group. In this role, you will support the Financial Control Lead and Senior Managers to ensure the Financial Control Framework (FCF) operates effectively throughout the annual reporting cycle. This involves engagement with stakeholders from various divisions, including senior Divisional and Group Finance teams.

What you'll be doing:

• Act as an Actuarial control expert for the L&G Group to ensure Actuarial Financial Reporting areas are reviewed and challenged, providing support and training to team members and stakeholders.
• Ensure completion of FCF requirements, including walkthroughs, risk and control identification, issue recording, and MI production for committees.
• Validate risk assessments, including deficiencies and remediation plans, engaging stakeholders for smooth delivery.
• Review significant models and EUCs for assurance to the Group Model and Financial Control Committee.
• Oversee BAU deliverables, manage team capabilities, and ensure high-quality, accurate work.

Qualifications:

• A Nearly Qualified/Qualified Actuary or equivalent experience.
• Experience with IFRS17 and Audits.
• Understanding of the Legal & General Group and its products.
• Knowledge of actuarial processes for protection and retirement businesses.
• Experience with financial reporting risk and control frameworks is a plus.
• Strong understanding of insurance and asset management risks and processes.
• Ability to challenge technical requirements and find practical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
