Job summary

AXIS Capital in London is seeking an Actuarial Engineer to join the Reinsurance and Enterprise Risk, Pricing & Modelling Systems team. You will help develop AXIS' next generation pricing and exposure management systems, collaborating with actuaries, data scientists and IT colleagues to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• A university degree in a highly analytical field (e.g., Mathematics, Natural Science, Engineering or Actuarial Science)
• 3+ years' experience in actuarial / modelling / software development
• Sound proficiency in a .NET language, C# preferred
• Solid object-oriented programming skills
• Understanding of performance and scalability considerations
• Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and innovative problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others in an international and global team
• Keen attention to detail
• Ability to manage priorities under pressure and time constraints
• Hands on approach to solving problems
• Strong communication skills, allowing you to interact with a diverse group of colleagues

Responsibilities

• Implementing actuarial methodologies and modelling algorithms
• Enhancing, maintaining, and supporting existing modelling applications
• Interacting with actuaries, exposure managers and user groups for requirements gathering
• Provide training and support to business users
• Support the development team in application end-to-end testing and business analysis
• Leading development of modelling applications with an agile team
• Provide clear documentation on implementations
