Capita Pension Solutions is seeking an Actuarial Consultant for a home-based role within the Special Projects team. Qualifications

• A qualified actuary or nearly qualified actuary
• Wide/deep knowledge of occupational DB pensions
• Flexibility to work on different types of DB pensions projects
• Ability to deliver to tight timescales
• Clear communication with actuaries and non-actuaries
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience of supporting and developing actuarial students through project work
• Good team player with flexible approach to work

Responsibilities

• Oversee benefit correction and rectification exercises
• Undertake pre-deal due diligence for bulk annuity providers
• Provide governance work for trustees and test benefit rules
• Lead benefit creation exercises (e.g., contingent spouse pensions) and benefit calculation audits
• Conduct data validation and improvement projects on pension schemes
• Prepare and review consulting reports on projects as required
• Attend client meetings and act as primary client contact on chosen projects
• Ensure robust audit trails for work activities
• Coordinate with onboarding and live administration teams to resolve issues
