At Leicestershire Partnership Trust we have an exciting brand-new job opportunity within our Mental Health Services for adults as an Inpatient Activity Coordinator based at The Willows Hospital.

The Willows have three wards, Cedar and Sycamore ward are step down acute wards (10 beds each) and Maple ward is Level 2 High dependency Unit for locked rehab (8 beds).

As an Inpatient Activity Coordinator, you will be based on the ward delivering and facilitating 1:1 and group activities that will meet a range of needs for our inpatients including physical, mental and social wellbeing. You will also work closely with the multi-disciplinary team such as Medical, Nursing, Therapy and Psychology staff as well as the Wellbeing and Engagement Officers.

The ideal candidate will be dedicated, creative and passionate about delivering excellent care to our patients.

Job Description Summary (Main duties and responsibilities)

As an Inpatient Activity Coordinator, you will collaborate with a wide healthcare team to create individualised activity timetables that promote mental, emotional, and physical health.

Creativity, compassion, and organisational skills will help transform the inpatient experience, making a positive impact on wellbeing and patient satisfaction. This role is perfect for a dynamic individual who is passionate about improving the lives of others through meaningful interactions and tailored programs.

For this role you must have a real desire to look after and help people, have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate all of our trust values.

Some of the activities you will be supporting with include bingo, art projects , playing games and much more. We are not expecting everyone to know everything in all aspects of the role when applying, but someone who is willing to have fun whilst upskilling themselves would be the ideal candidate!


This role covers a 7 day rota including evenings and weekend.
