Cygnet Hospital Bury Hudson is seeking a motivated Activity Coordinator to join our team. You will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm, supporting patients in a secure mental health setting.

The role involves assisting the Occupational Therapist and promoting engaging activities to aid recovery and social inclusion. You will join an interdisciplinary team providing patient-centred care, with opportunities for CPD and clinical supervision in a supportive environment.

Formación

• Experience and/or a passion for healthcare and with learning disabilities.
• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy.
• Creative flair and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
• Awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable).

Responsabilidades

• Support and enhance patient care by assisting the Occupational Therapist.
• Encourage patients to engage in activities and maintain hobbies.
• Plan and implement therapy programmes with required materials.
• Contribute ideas and help facilitate events and activities safely.

We are looking for a highly motivated Activity Coordinator to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Bury Hudson. You'll be working40 hours per week (Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm) making a real positive difference to the lives of people in our care at Cygnet Hospital Bury Hudson. Cygnet Bury Hudson provides a wide range of secure mental health services for men including individuals with a diagnosis of personality disorder. Each service user has a bedroom with en suite facilities and a range of communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden and woodland walkways down to the Elton Reservoir.

Your Day-to-Day:

• We are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the care of patients at the service by assisting the Occupational Therapist with;
• Encouraging patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well maintaining any pre-existing hobbies.
• Planning and implementing therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained
• Contributing ideas, facilitating events and activities in a safe manner

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience and/or a passion for working in healthcare and with learning disabilities
• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy
• A creative flair and the ability to work as part of a interdisciplinary team
• An awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable)
