Levick Court is seeking two Activity Co-Ordinators for a brand-new role within our learning disability short stay break service. You will design and deliver a varied activities programme, promoting independence, wellbeing and social inclusion for adults with learning disabilities.
Work will involve building relationships with service users, their families and staff, creating person-centred activity plans, and ensuring meaningful experiences during stay.
Please note this a 20 hours per week post.
Due to the continued development of our service, an exciting new opportunity has arisen for two Activity Co-Ordinators to join our team at Levick Court.
This is a brand-new role within our learning disability short stay break service and offers a unique opportunity to shape and develop a meaningful activities programme that enhances the lives of the people we support.
Levick Court provides short stay breaks for adults with learning disabilities in a modern, purpose-built environment. We have spacious communal areas including multi-purpose activity rooms, a sensory room, media room, and secure gardens, allowing us to offer a wide range of engaging and person-centred activities.
We are looking for someone who is creative, forward-thinking, outgoing and enthusiastic, with the ability to inspire and encourage people to participate in activities that promote independence, wellbeing and social inclusion.
This role will suit an individual who enjoys building positive relationships, thinking innovatively and creating exciting opportunities both within the service and out in the local community, including forging meaningful new connections within our local community.
The successful candidate will work closely with the people who access our service, their families and our staff team to understand individual interests, preferences, and aspirations. You will be responsible for developing and delivering a varied programme of leisure activities, social events, and community opportunities, ensuring that every individual has access to meaningful experiences during their stay.
You will need excellent communication and organisational skills, be confident using IT systems, and be able to complete activity plans, risk assessments and accurate records. You will also play a key role in evaluating and continuously improving the activities programme to ensure it remains engaging, inclusive, and responsive to individual needs.
We are seeking applicants who are passionate about supporting adults with learning disabilities and who have experience of delivering activities, promoting independence and engaging people in meaningful opportunities.
Experience of working with adults with disabilities and a good understanding of person-centred support is essential.
Applicants must hold an NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
A full UK Driving Licence and access to transport would be advantageous to support the community-based activities, but it is not essential for the role.
If successful, you will be joining a friendly, supportive and dedicated team that is committed to delivering high-quality short break services and making every stay at Levick Court a positive and memorable experience.
If this is you, this may be the opportunity you are looking for!
Please note Middlesbrough Council do not currently offer sponsorships.
We operate a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for applicants that can show they meet all the essential criteria and have indicated they have a disability, are a looked after young person, care leaver or a veteran.
