Job summary

Alderbrook Care Home in Leeds is seeking an Activities Lead to develop and deliver a high quality, person centred activities programme within a specialist complex care setting. You will plan and lead group and one-to-one activities, tailored to individual interests and care needs, fostering participation and social interaction.

  • Previous experience as an Activities Coordinator or similar is essential.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs is beneficial.

Job description

Alderbrook Care Home is a modern, purpose built care home located in Leeds, providing specialist Complex Care for up to 140 residents. The home supports individuals with complex physical and mental health needs within a safe, structured and supportive environment focused on dignity, wellbeing and person centred care.

Activities Lead Contract
  • £13.71 per hour
  • Contracted to 40 hours per week
  • Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
Role Overview

As an Activities Lead, you will take responsibility for developing and delivering a high quality, engaging and person centred activities programme within a specialist complex care setting, supporting individuals with a range of complex physical and mental health needs.

You will plan and lead both group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs, including those who may require a structured or more sensitive approach to engagement. Building strong relationships will enable you to deliver meaningful and inclusive activities that encourage participation, confidence and social interaction.

Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will ensure activities are well organised, consistent and aligned with individual care plans. You will maintain accurate records and continuously review and develop the programme to ensure it remains engaging, responsive and effective.

  • Previous experience in an Activities Coordinator or similar role is essential
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver engaging activities and events
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A confident, creative and proactive approach
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs or within a care environment is beneficial
