Job summary

Maples Care Home in Bexleyheath is seeking an Activities Lead on a 30-hour per week contract to develop and deliver a high-quality, person-centred activities programme for residents, including those living with dementia.

You will plan group and one-to-one activities, build relationships with residents and the wider team, keep records, and continuously improve the programme within Care Concern Group.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Activities Coordinator or similar role is essential.
• Proven ability to plan and deliver engaging activities and events.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Confident, creative and proactive approach.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience supporting older people, including those living with dementia.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead group and one-to-one activities tailored to individuals.
• Deliver meaningful and inclusive activities that promote participation and social interaction.
• Work with the Home Manager and wider team to ensure activities are organised, aligned with care plans and well documented.
• Maintain accurate records and continuously review and improve the programme.

Maples Care Home is a purpose-built nursing home in Bexleyheath, set over three floors and designed to combine modern facilities with a warm, homely atmosphere. The home offers 75 spacious ensuite bedrooms where residents are encouraged to personalise their space, creating a comfortable and supportive environment.

Activities Lead Contract

• £14.04 per hour
• Contracted to 30 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Activities Lead, you will take responsibility for developing and delivering a high quality, engaging and person centred activities programme. The role plays a key part in enhancing wellbeing, promoting independence and creating a positive, stimulating environment.

You will plan and lead both group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs, including those living with dementia. Building strong relationships will enable you to deliver meaningful and inclusive activities that encourage participation and social interaction.

Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will ensure activities are well organised, consistent and aligned with individual care plans. You will also maintain accurate records and continuously review and improve the programme to ensure it remains engaging and effective.
