Job summary

Tunbridge Wells Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking an Activities Lead to develop and deliver a person-centred activities programme for residents, including those living with dementia. You will plan group and one-to-one activities, with close collaboration to ensure alignment with care plans and wellbeing goals.

The role requires previous experience as an Activities Coordinator, strong organisation and communication skills, and a proactive, creative approach to engaging residents

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Activities Coordinator or similar role is essential.
• Proven ability to plan and deliver engaging activities and events.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Confident, creative and proactive approach.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience supporting older people, including those living with dementia.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a high quality, engaging and person centred activities programme.

• Build strong relationships with residents and the wider team to align with care plans.

Job description

Tunbridge Wells Care Centre is a bright, modern home in a residential area of Royal Tunbridge Wells, offering person-centred nursing, dementia and palliative care for up to 70 residents. The home features spacious ensuite rooms, wheelchair-accessible facilities, welcoming communal areas, a dedicated hair salon and large landscaped gardens, all supported by a compassionate team committed to kindness, dignity and comfort.

Activities Lead Contract

• £13.84 per hour
• Contracted to 36 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Activities Lead, you will take responsibility for developing and delivering a high quality, engaging and person centred activities programme. The role plays a key part in enhancing wellbeing, promoting independence and creating a positive, stimulating environment. You will plan and lead both group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs, including those living with dementia. Building strong relationships will enable you to deliver meaningful and inclusive activities that encourage participation and social interaction. Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will ensure activities are well organised, consistent and aligned with individual care plans. You will also maintain accurate records and continuously review and improve the programme to ensure it remains engaging and effective.
