Job summary

Harrogate Homeless Project is seeking an Activities Coordinator to lead and develop a varied timetable of recreational and wellbeing activities for people experiencing homelessness in Harrogate. The role focuses on creating meaningful experiences to reduce isolation and support independent living.

You will design, coordinate and deliver activities with clients, colleagues, volunteers and community partners in a welcoming environment that promotes belonging and personal growth.

Qualifications

• Passion for supporting people facing disadvantage and ability to inspire others through creativity and positive engagement.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver a diverse programme of activities including arts and crafts, music, cooking, gardening, fitness, wellbeing and life-skills workshops.
• Develop weekly and monthly activity schedules that meet the varied interests and support needs of clients.
• Adapt activities to suit different abilities, confidence levels and individual circumstances.
• Create a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment that encourages participation and social connection.
• Recruit, support and coordinate volunteers who assist with activity delivery.
• Develop partnerships with local organisations, guest speakers and community groups to expand opportunities available to clients.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and monitor the impact and success of the activities programme.
