Job summary

Bosworth Care Home in Weymouth is hiring an Activities Coordinator for 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at Bosworth Care Home, Southdown Avenue, Weymouth. The role focuses on companionship, creating engaging activities, planning events, and supporting residents to stay active.

Responsibilities

• Companionship—providing support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents
• Creating activities—designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources
• Event planning—organising summer BBQs or Christmas parties for residents
• Resident interaction—you will be in conversation with residents to see which activities they want to do and implement them
• External communications—liaising with external entertainers or businesses to arrange visits for residents
• Mobility—support residents to live independently through activities like Zumba or ballroom
• Social activities—outings, events and activities within the home for all abilities
• Team support—assist new or existing colleagues through shadowing and teamwork

The Role 1 Activities Coordinator - working 12 hours per week from 10am to 4pm on a Saturday and a Sunday on a weekly basis

A day in the life of an Activities Coordinator

• Companionship- providing support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents
• Creating activities - you will be in charge of designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources.
• Event planning 1 our Activities Coordinators are involved with planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for our residents.
• Resident interaction 1 you will always be in conversation with residents to see which activities they want to do and bringing them to fruition.
• External communications 1 as an Activities Coordinator you will be speaking with external entertainers or businesses to organise visits from entertainers or arranging for visits to businesses for the residents.
• Mobility - supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility through activities such as Zumba or ballroom or even things like balloon tennis.
• Social activities- trips out, social engagements and activities within the home for all abilities.
• Team support - helping new or existing colleagues through shadowing and teamwork, and supporting the smooth running of the home when required

What We Looking For

• A minimum of 12 months remaining on your right to work in the UK, please note: Under new guidance we are unable to accept skilled or student visas
• Caring, positive, and reliable individuals
• Previous care experience is not essential, as fully funded training is provided
