Job summary

Agincare Group via Bosworth Care Home in Weymouth is seeking an Activities Coordinator for a 30-hour week (Mon-Fri) at Bosworth Care Home, Southdown Avenue, Weymouth. Salary is £12.85 per hour, with duties including planning engaging activities, companionship, and resident engagement.

You will design plans, coordinate with external entertainers, and support residents’ mobility and social engagement in a warm, supportive home environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months remaining on right to work in the UK.
• Caring, positive and reliable.
• Previous care home/activities experience required.

Responsibilities

• Companionship- providing support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents.
• Creating activities - designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources.
• Event planning – planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for residents.
• Resident interaction – speaking with residents to see which activities they want and bringing them to fruition.
• External communications – coordinating with external entertainers or businesses for visits.
• Mobility - assisting residents to live independently through activities like Zumba or ballroom.
• Social activities- trips out and within the home for all abilities.
• Team support - mentoring new or existing colleagues and ensuring smooth home operations.

A day in the life of an Activities Coordinator

• Companionship- providing support , companionship, communication and engagement with residents
• Creating activities - you will be in charge of designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources.
• Event planning – our Activities Coordinators are involved with planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for our residents.
• Resident interaction – you will always be in conversation with residents to see which activities they want to do and bringing them to fruition.
• External communications – as an Activities Coordinator you will be speaking with external entertainers or businesses to organise visits from entertainers or arranging for visits to businesses for the residents.
• Mobility - supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility through activities such as Zumba or ballroom or even things like balloon tennis .
• Social activities- trips out, social engagements and activities within the home for all abilities.
• Team support - helping new or existing colleagues through shadowing and teamwork, and supporting the smooth running of the home when required

• Caring, positive, and reliable individuals
• Previous care home/activities experience required
