Job summary

Bosworth Care Home in Weymouth is seeking an Activities Coordinator to join our caring team. This 30-hour-per-week role runs Monday to Friday at the Bosworth Care Home, Southdown Avenue, Weymouth, DT3 6HR, with a pay rate of £12.85 per hour.

You will design engaging activities, provide companionship, plan events, support residents’ mobility, and coordinate external entertainers, while benefiting from ongoing training and funded qualifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months remaining on right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and engagement with residents.
• Design engaging activities plans.
• Plan events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties.
• Interact with residents to tailor activities.
• Coordinate external entertainers and arrange visits.
• Support mobility and social activities within the home.
• Assist with team shadowing and smooth running of the home.

A day in the life of an Activities Coordinator

• Companionship- providing support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents
• Creating activities - you will be in charge of designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources.
• Event planning – our Activities Coordinators are involved with planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for our residents.
• Resident interaction – you will always be in conversation with residents to see which activities they want to do and bringing them to fruition.
• External communications – as an Activities Coordinator you will be speaking with external entertainers or businesses to organise visits from entertainers or arranging for visits to businesses for the residents.
• Mobility - supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility through activities such as Zumba or ballroom or even things like balloon tennis.
• Social activities- trips out, social engagements and activities within the home for all abilities.
• Team support - helping new or existing colleagues through shadowing and teamwork, and supporting the smooth running of the home when required

What We’re Looking For

• A minimum of 12 months remaining on your right to work in the UK, please note: Under new guidance we are unable to accept skilled or student visas
• Caring, positive, and reliable individuals
• Previous care home/activities experience required
