16 Hours PW, 2 days 9.30am - 5.30pm, One Weekend Per Month

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working with residents living with dementia
  • Have a genuine interest in residents' wellbeing
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Work effectively within a team
  • Be able to motivate participation
  • Have strong organizational and time management skills
  • Build residents' self-esteem
  • Stay informed about new activities and best practices

Role and responsibilities include:

  • Organizing and coordinating tailored individual and group activities, including themed events based on holidays and traditions
  • Booking external entertainers and suppliers
  • Planning trips considering transport and accessibility
  • Contributing to a stimulating activity program to enhance residents' quality of life
  • Maintaining records of resident participation and needs
  • Keeping a portfolio of activities available within the home and community
  • Participating in fundraising events

General duties:

  • Attending staff meetings
  • Completing mandatory and developmental training
  • Communicating effectively with staff, relatives, visitors, and agencies
  • Practicing safe working practices
