Job summary

Agincare Cordelia care home in Fareham, England is looking for an Activities Coordinator to deliver engaging resident activities and companionship. The role is part-time (1 x 24 hour contract) with a shift pattern including 09:00–16:00 and alternating weekends. CQC rating: Good.

You’ll provide companionship, design and run activities, plan events, and liaise with external entertainers to enhance residents’ daily lives. This is a rewarding opportunity within a supportive Agincare team.

• Part time positions available - 1 x 24 hour contract
• Shift pattern will include working alternate weekends and shift pattern of 09:00 - 16:00
• Shift pattern can be flexible

Responsibilities

• Companionship - providing support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents
• Creating activities - designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources
• Event planning – planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for residents
• Resident interaction – conversing with residents to see which activities they want to do and bringing them to fruition
• External communications – speaking with external entertainers or businesses to arrange visits for residents
• Mobility - supporting residents to live independently through activities like Zumba or ballroom
• Social activities - trips out, social engagements and activities within the home for all abilities

A day in the life of an Activities Coordinator

• Companionship - providing support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents


• Creating activities - you will be in charge of designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources.


• Event planning – our Activities Coordinators are involved with planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for our residents.


• Resident interaction – you will always be in conversation with residents to see which activities they want to do and bringing them to fruition.


• External communications – as an Activities Coordinator you will be speaking with external entertainers or businesses to organise visits from entertainers or arranging for visits to businesses for the residents.


• Mobility - supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility through activities such as Zumba or ballroom or even things like balloon tennis.


• Social activities - trips out, social engagements and activities within the home for all abilities.
