Your Care Jobs Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic Activities Coordinator for a luxury retirement home in Dorking, Surrey. You will plan and deliver a varied programme of activities, tailored to residents' interests, abilities and preferences, helping them stay active and socially connected.

You will work with care staff to ensure activities are appropriate, encourage participation in social events and trips, and create a warm, supportive environment in a not-for-profit setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience organising activities, events or social programmes, ideally within a care setting.
• Creative, enthusiastic and outgoing personality with genuine passion for older people.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Location: Dorking, Surrey
Pay: £14.36 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

About the Home

We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-established residential care home in Dorking, Surrey, providing support for up to 44 residents.

The home offers a warm, homely environment where residents can enjoy an active and vibrant community. Residents are encouraged to maintain an enjoyable and fulfilling lifestyle, with regular activities, trips and a variety of social events taking place throughout the year.

The team takes a deeply personal approach to care, taking the time to understand each resident’s individual needs, preferences and personality. Activities play an important role in helping residents remain socially connected, active and engaged.

The Role

As an Activities Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a varied programme of activities that encourages residents to remain active, socially connected and engaged in daily life.

You will get to know residents individually, taking the time to understand their interests, hobbies, abilities and preferences so that activities can be tailored to suit different needs.

The successful candidate will bring energy, creativity and enthusiasm to the role, helping to create a lively and stimulating environment where residents can enjoy meaningful experiences.

  About You

  We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Activities Coordinator who genuinely enjoys spending time with older people and creating opportunities for them to enjoy meaningful and stimulating experiences.

  You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience organising activities, events or social programmes, ideally within a care setting
  • A creative, enthusiastic and outgoing personality
  • Genuine passion for supporting older people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage with people from different backgrounds and with varying abilities
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to plan and manage a varied programme of activities
  • A flexible and person-centred approach
  • Ability to work independently while also being part of a wider team
