Job summary

Admirals Reach Care Home in Chelmsford seeks an Activities Coordinator to plan and deliver engaging activities that promote wellbeing and social interaction for residents, including those with dementia.

You will tailor a programme to individual interests, build meaningful relationships, and work within a supportive team. Training and progression opportunities are provided to help you develop in the role.

About Admirals Reach Care Home

Admirals Reach Care Home is a 158 bed care home located in a quiet residential area of Chelmsford, Essex. Providing residential, nursing, residential dementia and nursing dementia care, the home offers a welcoming environment with bright living spaces, landscaped gardens, comfortable lounges and a strong family atmosphere. Colleagues work together to deliver high quality, person centred care and make a real difference to the lives of Residents every day.

• £13.45 to £13.95 per hour
• Contracted to 34 or 16 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life by delivering engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.

You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs. Building strong relationships is essential, enabling a clear understanding of preferences and supporting inclusive participation for all individuals, including those living with dementia.

Working as part of the wider team, the role contributes to a positive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, active and connected. This role is open to both experienced candidates and those new to care, with training and support provided to help you develop in the role.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience in activities or a similar role is beneficial, however candidates with transferable skills from roles such as hospitality, events, childcare or community work are encouraged to apply
