We'd like you to join us as an Activities Coordinator at our service Frenchay in Bristol.

The post is based at the Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre (FBIRC). The FBIRC is the Level 1 specialist inter-disciplinary neuro-rehabilitation centre serving the South West region. The centre operates within a joint working arrangement between North Bristol NHS Trust and Active Care Group.

A very rewarding and satisfying job – working with patients who benefit greatly from the activity programme.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Activities Coordinator, on a part-time, permanent contract, to join our existing team. The successful candidate will jointly develop and run a programme of social and recreational activities to meet the needs of brain-injured patients in the acute rehabilitation setting.

What you'll be working:

26 hours worked over 7 days, including weekends and evenings.

What you'll be doing:

We are looking for an individual who can work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and under their own initiative. The post holder will be responsible for planning, organising, and implementing a social, recreational, and leisure activity programme in partnership with our existing Activities Coordinators. This will involve individual and group activities within the unit and the wider community. The post holder will work closely with the multi-disciplinary therapy team. You will personally run and deliver some activities and support staff to be involved in the activity programme.

The post also involves driving the Centre Minibus and Car.

What you'll have:
  • Interest and experience in running groups.
  • An understanding of the value of activity and structure in an acute rehabilitation setting.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

We also want to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable facilities to participate in job applications or interviews to perform essential job functions. To support this, we are a Disability Confident committed employer.

  • Birthday off
  • Join the Active Learning Hub and benefit from a wide range of e-learning and face-to-face training and development opportunities
  • Active Reward App offering discounts and savings on your weekly shop
  • Free 24-hour confidential Employee Assistance Programme Helpline & App to support with legal, health, wellbeing, relationship, and consumer advice
  • Access to join a Medicash Health Plan for you and your family to save money on everyday health essentials – like going to the dentist or opticians
  • Recognition of outstanding Active Behaviours via the Active Awards programme
  • Enhanced Sick & Maternity Pay benefits
  • Refer a Friend Scheme and earn up to £1000 by recommending someone you know
  • ……and of course, the support and guidance of our qualified clinical and business leadership teams so that you can really develop your career with Active Care Group
