Job summary

The Hollies in South Wales is seeking an enthusiastic Activities Assistant to support our Activities Coordinator in delivering a varied, inclusive and person-centred programme that reflects who our residents are. You do not need to be a performer; energy, creativity, empathy and a willingness to try are what matter most.

You will help deliver a meaningful activities programme, encourage individual lifestyle choices, and work with the care team to continually enhance residents' quality of life.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with care teams.
  • Organised and able to maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of a meaningful, engaging and stimulating activities programme.
  • Encourage residents to express and maintain their individual lifestyle choices.
  • Spend time with residents in conversation and meaningful occupation.
  • Support reviews of activities with residents and the care team to enhance lived experience.
  • Assist with activity planning, monthly calendars and expenditure records.
  • Ensure activity records are accurate and inspection-ready.
  • Support compliance with regulatory requirements, policies and procedures.

What matters most is energy, creativity, empathy and a willingness to give things a go.About this role Your role in enriching daily life You will play a key role in supporting residents to live well by:

  • Supporting the delivery of a meaningful, engaging and stimulating activities programme, based on relationship-centred care
  • Encouraging residents to express and maintain their individual lifestyle choices
  • Spending time with residents in conversation and meaningful occupation, at a pace that respects dignity, communication needs and preferences
  • Supporting reviews of activities with residents and the wider care team to continually enhance the lived experience
  • Assisting with activity planning, monthly calendars and expenditure records
  • Ensuring activity records are accurate, up to date and inspection-ready
  • Supporting compliance with regulatory requirements, policies and procedures
  • Ensuring appropriate resources and equipment are always available to support engagement
