Job summary

Midland Care Home is seeking a motivated Activities Assistant to develop ongoing weekly activities that stimulate residents and promote wellbeing. You will record activities (some computer based), and lead group and one-to-one sessions, with support from a mentorship and training program.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to develop and organise a range of events / activities for residents.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Friendly, creative and confident.
• Genuine interest in working with the elderly residents.
• Satisfactory enhanced DBS Check and where applicable a check against the DBS First List.

We are currently recruiting for a motivated, experienced and enthusiastic individual who can provide a wide range of activities to interest and stimulate the physical and mental state of our residents, understanding the need of promoting the philosophy of privacy and dignity, independence and choices, rights respect and fulfilment for all residents. Good personal and interpersonal skills are essential.

The right candidate will be offered support through mentorship and training program to ensure they have all the right tools to succeed in their role.

Tasks in brief
