Job summary

Pilgrims' Friend Society is seeking an Activities and Community Engagement Facilitator for Villa Adastra, a 40-bed residential care home in Hassocks. You will connect with local churches and residents, plan activities, and lead a volunteer team to foster a vibrant community life.

The successful candidate will engage with the wider community, organise events, and support families, while upholding the Society's Christian ethos and providing compassionate care to residents.

• Experience coordinating volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Engage with local churches by visiting and presenting to the community.
• Build relationships with local ministers, pastors and vicars.
• Organise and facilitate events and outings; lead a team of volunteers.
• Create monthly activities for residents and plan family-friendly activities.
• Coordinate activities for family members to be stimulating and creative.
• Engage with the wider community through open days, coffee mornings, summer events.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Villa Adastra is a welcoming 40-bed residential care home offering permanent, respite and end-of-life care, including specialist support for people living with dementia.

Responsibilities:

• Engaging with local Churches by sending out regular Newsletters,
• Visiting and presenting to the community and local churches;
• Building relationships with local ministers, pastors, vicars etc.
• Organising and facilitating special events and outings;
• Leading a team of volunteers;
• Creating monthly activities for residents;
• Co-ordinating and facilitating activities for the family members that will be stimulating and creative;
• Engaging with the wider community by organising community coffee mornings, Summer Fayres, open days etc;
• Additional duties when required.

Applicants must be evangelical Christians (This role has an Occupational Requirement to be filled by a Christian under the provisions of the Equality Act (2010).)

Full-time contract: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday with the occasional weekend work., Training & development
