Job summary

Pilgrims' Friend Society in Leicester seeks an Activities and Community Engagement Facilitator to foster ties with local churches, coordinate events for residents and families, and lead volunteers. The role emphasizes evangelistic engagement and community outreach, working on-site at The Evington Home with a focus on meaningful activities and pastoral partnerships.

The position is full-time, 35 hours per week, and salary is a fixed annual amount with opportunities to connect with local churches

Responsibilities

• Engage with local churches by sending newsletters.
• Visit and present to the community and churches.

• Create monthly activities for residents.
• Coordinate activities for families to be engaging and creative.
• Organise community coffee mornings, summer fairs, open days.

This role is perfect for a proactive and compassionate Christian whoenjoys connecting with our older residents and is able to engage with local churches & community groups*.

We appreciate that each resident has their own individual interests, hobbies, and pastimes, and we support our residents to maintain this important part of their lives. They are actively encouraged to lead the lifestyle that they choose.

TheEvington Homeis about three miles from Leicester city centreandoffers residential care, as well as providingdementia care.The Evington Home has 30 rooms, the majority of which have either garden or park views. See our beautiful home here .

• Engaging with local Churches by sending out regular Newsletters,
• Visiting and presenting to the community and local churches;
• Building relationships with local ministers, pastors, vicars etc.
• Organising and facilitating special events and outings;
• Leading a team of volunteers;
• Creating monthly activities for residents;
• Co-ordinating and facilitating activities for the family members that will be stimulating and creative;
• Engaging with the wider community by organising community coffee mornings, Summer Fayres, open days etc;

*Applicants must be evangelical Christians (This role has an Occupational Requirement to be filled by a Christian under the provisions of the Equality Act (2010).)

Hours:

Full-time contract: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
