Job summary

Royal Mail Group is seeking a Delivery Driver (Postie) in Ivybridge. You will sort and deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, building relationships with customers and working outdoors in all weather. The role is fixed-term for 9 months with a 37-hour week and weekend work in a rotation.

You must hold a full manual UK driving licence, be physically fit, reliable and self-motivated, and able to pass a driving assessment. Training is provided, and a Royal Mail van is used daily.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift/carry 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weathers.
• Deliver more than mail: exam results, birthday cards, business orders.
