Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Nottingham to deliver letters and parcels as part of a fixed-term contract. You will work 30 hours per week, across a 5-day period with weekends on a rotating schedule, and you may walk or drive routes in all weathers.

You’ll receive full training, a uniform, and a driving assessment. The role rewards active outdoor work and strong community engagement with everyday items arriving on time.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) registered to your name and address.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, lift 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Deliver high volumes of parcels on busy, time-pressured days.
• Walk long distances up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps.
