Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Colchester to deliver letters and parcels on a fixed-term contract (9 months). You’ll work 37 hours per week across Monday to Sunday, with a rotating shift including weekends, and you’ll drive a Royal Mail van and walk routes in your local area.

You’ll build strong relationships with customers, work outdoors in all weathers, and enjoy the routine, structure and variety this role offers, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.
