Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Abingdon is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed term contract (6 months). You will deliver letters and parcels in Abingdon, working a 37-hour week on a rotating shift that includes weekends.

Full training, a uniform and a red Royal Mail van are provided. You must hold a full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points), be physically fit to walk long distances, and enjoy working outdoors and independently.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit to walk long distances and lift 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self-motivated with strong organisation and resilience.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
