Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for Watford delivering letters and parcels. Role includes outdoor work, van and foot delivery, and building community connections. Shift pattern includes some weekends and 6-hour evening blocks.

The position is a fixed-term contract for 9 months, part of a 30-hour week across 5 days in 7 days, with overtime paid where applicable.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required with up to 6 penalty points.
• Pass a driving assessment for Royal Mail van duty.
• Be physically fit and able to walk long distances and work outdoors.
• Be reliable, self-motivated and customer-focused.
• Demonstrate strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
