Job summary

Royal Mail in Northwood is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term 6-month contract. The role is 30 hours per week, with a rotating 5 days in 7 schedule and a starting pay of £16.24 per hour plus overtime. You will sort, deliver, and engage with customers on your route, outdoors in all weathers.

Full UK driving licence required, and you must be physically fit to walk long distances and lift mailbags. Training provided; uniform and van supplied.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy environment

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area
• Build relationships with customers
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
