Job summary

GCIL North Lanarkshire is seeking a warm and patient Personal Assistant to provide one-to-one support at home and in the community. The role includes personal care, meal prep, mobility assistance, and helping the client participate in social activities. A proactive and respectful communicator is essential to enable independence and a meaningful lifestyle.

Typical pattern: 18 hours per week, with potential for more hours. Sleepovers and overnight stays may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in care or support roles preferred but not essential; full training provided.
• Permanent contract with 18 hours per week guaranteed; potential for more hours.
• Flexibility for sleepovers, overnights, holidays and staying in the home when parents are away.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care including showering, toileting, and shaving.
• Support with medication and meal preparation.
• Assist with feeding, mobility, and transfer using aids as needed.
• Support travel on public transport and participation in social activities.
• Help with shopping, prescriptions, and daily living tasks to promote independence.
